Road Safety Tips for Women Drivers
Stay Alert
- Park your car in a well-lit parking spot/road
- Before you get into the car, look around you, in the back seat and passenger side floor
- If your car has a flat tire, immediately head back to where you came from (office/restaurant/mall) and call for help
- If you are carrying a lot of shopping bags ask the security personnel to help you carry bags/escort you if parked at the far end of the lot
- Keep your laptop, phone, handbag out of sight. Place the bags on the passenger side floor or on the floor behind you
- Start the car and drive away as soon as you get in. Don’t spend time checking your phone /speaking over the phone etc.
- Beware of people who try to signal that there’s something wrong with your car or that you caused an accident. Don’t stop or open windows if you are sure nothing’s wrong
